What types of armchairs are there?

Official hat chair: The official hat chair is named after its shape similar to the hats of ancient officials. It can be divided into two types: the southern official hat chair and the four-headed official hat chair. In terms of shape, the Nanguan hat chair is not as generous as the four-headed style, but the Nanguan hat chair is relatively easy to use in decoration techniques, and various forms can be used to decorate the back and armrests; the materials can be square or round, curved or straight. Its characteristic is that soft rounded corners are made at the junction of the upright post of the back of the chair and the seat, the tenon is made of the upright post, the mortise and tenon is made of the beam, and the beam is pressed on the upright post. The back of the shaped chair is mostly made of frame paneling, with a grid in the middle, or a through-hole wishful cloud head, or a set of simple patterns embossed, which is beautiful and generous. Taishi chair: Taishi chair is the only chair named after an official position in Chinese classical furniture. It was first used in the Song Dynasty, and later recorded and described in poems and books of Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, celebrity handwriting, and several influential dictionaries popular today. The backrest, armrests and chair surface of the Taishi chair are at right angles to each other. It looks solemn and rigorous. Because it was popular in the Qing Dynasty, it has the characteristics of Qing-style furniture, such as thick materials, large and exaggerated decorations, and so on. All these characteristics of it are for one purpose, which is to highlight the status and identity of the owner. From its name, it can be seen that it is the chair that the grand master sits on.

Rose chair: The rose chair was seen in famous paintings of the Song Dynasty, and it was more common in the Ming Dynasty. It is a chair with a unique shape. The back of the chair is usually lower than other types of chairs, and the height of the armrests is almost the same. Most of the armrests, backrests and legs are round sticks. The backrest has no side legs and stands upright on the seat surface. The part above the seat surface of the rose chair is unique and famous for its beauty. Most of the backrests are decorated, either with arched teeth or carved panels. On the seat surface, most of them are equipped with horizontal slats, and the middle of the horizontal slats is supported by dwarfs or kazi flowers, which breaks the dull feeling of the backrest. Most of the rose chairs in the Ming Dynasty had round legs, and most of the rose chairs with square legs were works of the Qing Dynasty.
